What are the differences between the Roomba 675 and 690

At this point you might be wondering about the difference between the two devices. Even though the 675 and the 690 are different models, they are essentially the same product.

They are both 13.0 inches in diameter and 3.7 inches in height. They are both 7.8 pounds and they both have a 90-minute runtime. They even use the same charging station model. However, there are a couple of differences:

Dual Mode Virtual Barrier

The Roomba 675 does not come with a dual-mode virtual wall barrier. The Roomba 690 has one. Please note that the dual-mode barrier can be purchased separately.

The color

This day and age, we shouldn’t played down this aspect. Chances are, while its resting on its charging station, your Roomba will be visible, so you’ll want a product that matches your style. The 675 has a lean black design, while the 690 comes in a silver and black combination.

The dustbin latch mechanism

While this does not affect functionality, you should note that the release button on the dustbin does differ slightly between these two models. The 675 has a small button, while the 690 uses a wider pushdown latch. Other than that, they both use the same filter and have the same dustbin size, so this shouldn’t really affect your decision

What is a Dual Mode Virtual Barrier?

The Roomba 690 includes a Dual Mode Virtual Barrier, which creates an invisible barrier for keeping your device away from those problematic places in your house.

It offers two modes: virtual barrier and halo. The first mode, the virtual barrier creates an invisible cone, up to 10 feet long, which the Roomba cannot cross.

The halo mode is used to create a 4-foot diameter keep out zone, that will prevent your vacuum from bumping into anything.

Typically, the Dual Virtual Mode Barrier is used to prevent accidents involving delicate objects such as a pet’s bowl and other similar stuff or to prevent your Roomba from crossing into undesired areas.

The Dual Mode Virtual Barrier uses 2 AA batteries (included), which should last for eight to ten months.

Roomba 675 Review

The Roomba 675 is a great choice when considering functionality, size, and price together. It uses a three stage cleaning system that loosens, lifts, and sucks up the dirt as it moves around your floors.

The 675 can do this because it has patented dirt-detect sensors that guide it around objects and under furniture, and to use extra suction in dirtier areas.

The product comes in a box containing one Roomba 675 Robot Vacuum with Wi-Fi connectivity, one Home Base® charging station, one North American line cord, an extra filter, a user’s manual, and the product’s documentation.
